§ 153.04. Mobile home tie downs and skirting.

  • (A)

    All mobile homes, wherever located in the city, including mobile homes located on sales lots, must have tie downs sufficient to comply with the mobile home tie down standards issued by the Texas Department of Labor and Standards, except that:

    (1)

    All mobile homes shall be tied down in accordance with the standards of the Texas Department of Labor and Standards, regardless of when the mobile home was manufactured.

    (2)

    Mobile homes without internal construction conforming to the strength requirements described in these standards shall have over-the-top tie downs as strong as the total of internal and over-the-top ties described in the standards of the Texas Department of Labor and Standards.

    (B)

    Skirting shall be attached around the bottom of all mobile homes, wherever located in the city, so that the underside is not visible from any view of the mobile home. Such skirting shall be of appropriate materials approved by the Building Inspector or the Code Enforcement Officer.
