§ 33.01. Department created; chief of police.

There is hereby created a Department of Police consisting of a Chief of Police appointed pursuant to § 31.19 of this code and such other officers, patrolmen and employees as the City Commission may determine. The Chief shall be the head of such department and he shall appoint his own assistants, subject to the approval of City Administrator. He shall have immediate direction and control of the Police Department, subject to such rules, regulations and orders as may be prescribed by the Commission or the City Administrator, and shall promulgate all orders, rules and regulations for the government of the police force.
